INQUISITIVE INDIVIDUALS

we observe

We created a school based on our own observations of how learning thrives. We learnt from expert knowledge but still critically question it. We built a community, based on mutual respect and a culture of striving. We saw order and beauty emerge from this, not laid down by lines or laws. We dared to be different only to be a better school, and to call ourselves Strawberry Fields.

Our Students

learners-in-chief

Structure requires us to nominate leaders, but we’re really a group of like-minded men and women. We have come together to participate in a journey, to create more than a structure of bricks and mortar, a space that makes learning happen. Like our teachers, we are not entrepreneurs or careerists. We seek to build a spirit which can attract and retain talented educators, who in turn create high-performing young citizens and humans.

learn and re-learn

create a joyful and challenging learning process
provide opportunities to succeed
encourage continuous-self reflection
forge meaningful relationships
empower individuals to seek their own journey

joyful and challenging. why not?

Numbers and letters can be taught, and we do so delightfully. But what about individuality? Effective learning, both for academic and life skills is stimulated and explained. It is experienced, as moments that are spontaneous, yet orchestrated, drawn from a variety of sources.

WALKING A NEW PATH

saying no is for real

At Strawberry Fields, we walk down our own path. What we give up is for real, not a claim. As Einstein said— education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.

no screening. No profiling for admissions. Transparent selection.
no heroes (all are). We have a certificate of appreciation for every child on campus. No one child is hailed as a hero. All are equal.
clubbing starts early. We encourage the participation of every child in extra-curricular events and run a variety of clubs and after school activities.
no exams in junior school. Our junior school students are not put through any formal examination process, assessment is continuous and formative. School examinations starts in class 4.
no bell. Our school day is not fragmented but a free flowing system with continuous moments of learning.
no parents distanced. We maintain 100% transparency with parents. They are welcome to seek us out and participate in school activities.
no discipline ‘policy’. Discipline is not established through rules and regulations, it is learnt and valued through actions and outcomes.
no ‘annual day’. All days are special, all people are special, each child participates in his/her own special way.
no outsourcing. Students initiate and organise activities in school: from MUNs, class assemblies to leading social campaigns and raising awareness.
