Syllabus & Assessment
Our curriculum and methodology is designed to sharpen thinking processes by building strong and robust foundational skills. Students strive to enhance and apply their knowledge in a hands-on, meaningful way. This learning is not restricted to the classroom. It impacts the students’ environment and their societal interactions while building responsibility and initiative. The curriculum emphasises the essential unity of knowledge, and promotes an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
Starting from kindergarten (ages 5 +), the school provides 13 years of education. SFHS is registered with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi and the International Baccalaureate for the Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12). Also the IB PYP for classes up to Grade 5 and the Cambridge for its Lower Secondary programme for Grades 6-8.

Assessments
At SFHS, assessment is an integral part of teaching and learning. Formative assessment, or assessment for learning, is ongoing and informs educators’ planning, provides feedback and helps identify each student’s learning needs. Summative assessment, or assessment of learning, evaluates students’ understanding and achievement at key points in the learning process.
Educators use a range of assessment strategies to support progress, encourage reflection and provide a comprehensive understanding of each child’s learning. Formal written reports are shared with parents twice a year, at Mid-Year and Year-End.
Formal written examinations are gradually introduced from Grade 5 onwards, with two examination cycles each year. Parents are welcome to connect with educators whenever they wish to discuss their child’s progress and learning needs.
