ENVIRONMENT: THE SILENT TEACHER
form follows function
Research suggests that better environment contributes to higher engagement and creativity, and thus, student achievement. Engagement fosters better test scores and retention.
Spaces are intrinsic to the Strawberry Fields way. The variety of shapes and sizes enables a variety of interactions. Friendships are formed, faculty becomes family. These connections feed a sense of community, central to our ethos, and provide emotional and physical safety. Our school setting, its courtyards, corridors and classrooms create positive expectations. We believe it leads to students expecting more of themselves and others, develops superior civic sense, socialisation and personal organisation.
MY SCHOOL MY SPACE
indoor spaces
See, think, do. Spacious, well appointed and fastidiously maintained classrooms filled with natural light from large windows that bring the green surroundings into the class. They greatly improve motivation and reduce fatigue. With modern teaching infrastructure aids and new research based methods drawn from progressive institutions, educators and students feel valued, respected and competent.
Corridors face the open spaces inside the buildings. They are bright and feature fascinating play of shadows, and frame the sky providing a different view of the school at every turn.
NATURE NURTURES
outdoor spaces
Our campus has beautifully designed outdoor spaces that are accessible, and extensively used. They make it easy for children to develop the instinct and knowledge to promote sustainability. It allows nature to be the children’s yet another teacher, pointing them to recognise the beauty of nature, and realise its importance in their lives.
